Another @StubHub horror story @ScottFriedman3.
Before flying back to Boston to visit my parents and see a World Cup game I bought tickets to as a Christmas present Iwas told by a friend the tickets I purchased in DECEMBER might be at risk of being unfulfilled based on his experience.
I contacted customer support about 4 weeks before the game, and was assured that FIFA just hadn’t released the tickets and I would receive them, or they would find similar tickets per their “guarantee”
I flew home, made plans to head to the stadium, and 2 days before the game logged into my account to see the word “cancelled” under my order. No email, no text, no phone call, nothing….they just cancelled the order.
I contacted customer support and was simply told my refund was being processed and there was nothing they could do. They didn’t even attempt to find replacement tickets (picture in next tweet)
Final update: We never got our tickets. No replacement either, despite StubHub’s FanProtect Guarantee. Imagine if my dad had gone to the stadium hoping they’d arrive—he would’ve missed the game. After a week of calls and chats, all we got was “it’s being investigated” before they ended the chat. #StubHub @StubHub@FIFAcom@FIFAWorldCup
Stephen A. Smith admits he can’t wrap his head around “how the hell” the Clintons and Obamas left office worth upwards of $100,000,000 after “serving” the American people.
“Clinton was a lawyer in Arkansas, grew up poor, relatively broke. How the hell he and the Clinton Foundation are worth hundreds of millions of dollars beats me.”
“Barack Obama was a community organizer who became the President of the United States. And last time I checked, that salary ain’t over $450,000.”
“How the hell you depart from office, [together] you worth over $200 million?”
Clintons’ net worth before office: ~$1,300,000
Clintons’ net worth today: ~$120,000,000
Obamas’ net worth before office: ~$1,300,000
Obamas’ net worth today: ~$70,000,000
After being reassured miltiple times that we were working with a trusted seller @StubHub@TeamStubHub just told me that the seller cannot deliver and that a refund is our only option even though they still have tickets listed for sale. This company is a scam!! @ScottFriedman3
I almost never ask for help, but I’m desperate for this to reach as many people as possible. ❤️🔥
Back in November 2025, I bought three tickets on @StubHub for the USA World Cup Knockout Stage match (Round of 32) at Levi’s Stadium on July 1.
It was supposed to be a dream family experience.
Today, StubHub told me the seller can’t deliver the tickets.
There are no replacements available, and they’re only offering a refund; which I haven’t accepted yet because I’m supposed to fly family members from overseas for this once-in-a-lifetime game.
These aren’t just tickets. This is a lifetime dream for my family, and I don’t even have the heart to tell them the tickets were cancelled days before we fly.
How is this allowed?
@StubHub – you have FanProtect Guarantee. Why is my family being left in limbo?
We need real solutions, not just a refund.
If anyone from StubHub, media, or has influence can help, or if you’ve had similar issues, please share and tag them.
We need accountability in ticket resale for big events like the World Cup.
I bought these tickets back in November through StubHub.
The seller failed to deliver, so the order was canceled.
Just went on their site and saw the exact same tickets now listed for +$5,500 each. @TeamStubHub
Absolute scam. 😡
Hey @TheJusticeDept@DAGToddBlanche are you guys aware of the allegations against StubHub? They turned off the comments on their most recent post, stopped posting to X and tons of customers are complaining they’ve been scammed. The number of complaints is incredible.
@NicolasRMelo@TeamStubHub Hate to say this but you may be out of luck. @stubhub just did the same thing to me. I arrived at Wrigley field only to get the message that my tickets weren’t available after buying them in March. #stubhubsucks
Reminder that @StubHub is not a ticketing site, it’s a trading platform that allows market makers (scalpers) to openly freeroll you
They allow ticket brokers to list tickets they don’t have. If the broker is then able to secure tickets for less than the price you paid them, they flip them to you for a profit. If they are unable to acquire, they simply report they don’t have the tickets and all they are required to do per the terms and conditions is refund you the purchase price.
Should this be illegal? Absolutely, I have no idea how this business is allowed. But it is.
There is no reason to use this site as a consumer. Only use real resale marketplaces where you get the tickets in hand once you buy. Not a “tickets will be delivered to you at a later date” business model company. You’re just getting free rolled.
shout out to @StubHub for letting people take your 10k world cup tickets and punt them in the air and then offer you worse seats for the same price. Good business.

.@stubhub desperately needs to overhaul its policies.
These problems aren't new. They were just easier to overlook when only a few fans were affected at each event and complaints were spread out.
The World Cup, combined with skyrocketing ticket prices, has exposed the scale of the issue and shown why change can't wait any longer.
