@boatlady@dave43law@Nigel_Farage The UK tax rules have priced the average UK IT contractor out of the market as we have to mostly use umbrella companies under IR35 which charge tax at source rather than Ltd companies. All the rates went up to cover these changes but most of it goes to the govt.
@boatlady@dave43law@Nigel_Farage I work in the IT industry and there is a constant stream of new Indian IT staff. They are brought over on an initial 3 year contract and then they move back home or extend.
So the 3 year hiatus on NIC starts to makes sense.
@boatlady@dave43law@Nigel_Farage There are hundreds of thousands of UK based Indian staff.
The eventual outcome is the same, a very good standard of living for foreign people at the expense of UK born people.
I get IR35 tax rules, they get reduced NIC payments.
@boatlady@dave43law@Nigel_Farage And yet companies increasingly use Indian outsourcing which implies there is a saving. It certainly isn't the skill levels as most are mediocre at best.
We should be creating rules that make our own people competitive.
@MarinaPurkiss Indian outsourcing companies provide huge amounts of staff to UK businesses on site.
Most of these roles are well paid middle class jobs, project managers, business analysts, IT consultants.
Effectively deskilling huge swathes of the population as they can't compete on price.
@boatlady@dave43law@Nigel_Farage An Indian IT outsourcing company gets hired to provide IT consultants to UK businesses and then brings those people over, those staff become far cheaper and more competitive - effectively driving UK contractors out of business.
@PeterStefanovi2 So that means IT outsourcing companies for one.
Helps businesses get cheap labour but makes UK based IT contractors too expensive. Completely destroying any organic growth and effectively deskilling the population.
Inside IR35 contractors have to pay Employers and Employees NIC
@RachelReevesMP An almost unlimited supply of cheap labour from India, how exciting for you.
How is the average working class British person supposed to compete with this?
Do you even care?
@dave43law@Nigel_Farage Add a large NIC cost to businesses and then provide them a way out of it through mass immigration from a country with virtually unlimited supply of workers.
This is way beyond a failure to implement Brexit.
How you can defend Labour for this is beyond me.
@danielgoyal You're confusing right-wing politics with general common sense.
What cruelty are people seeking against these immigrants exactly?
Withdrawal of free accommodation and benefits?
Seeking to stop certain religions from forcing their values onto our everyday lives and behaviours?
@Zero_4 DEI is outcome based BS and is strangling the country's growth with mediocre race-based recruitment.
If these managers have any useful skills they can find more productive work elsewhere
Since WWII, Germany's liberal democracy has held. Now, it's on the brink. The government censors, spies on, and persecutes critics. And, today, it laid the groundwork to ban the nation's most popular political party, the AfD. My exclusive interview with one of its leaders.
