ACC Paramedic students have great clinical experiences including faculty-precepted rotations at Level 1 Trauma Center, Dell Seton Medical Center. When Travis County Starflighy brings in a patient they sometimes have time to give the students a tour of their aircraft and talk shop
It's Pride Month, and we recently made @TimHongMD's #NAEMSP2023 session, which focuses on caring for LGBTQ patients and highlights major research gaps for LGBTQ+ representation in the EMS workforce, available for free via @ProdigyEMS. Watch it now: https://t.co/97egHmEvGX
#EMS clinicians should be aware of recent proposals of discriminatory legislation aimed at the #LGBTQ population. We partnered with @NAEMSP to bring you @TimHongMD's 2023 Annual Meeting presentation: free CE included. https://t.co/PQyKHs6HMI
Check out our paramedic students in action. Here they are caring for a simulated patient. Why does it look so real?🤔Because soon they will be working paramedics caring for members of the community. #EMSeducation#MedEd#paramedics#iamacc
Real-world experience in action at ACC! Our Emergency Medical Service & Professional Nursing students worked together during a special simulation day to put their classroom skills to the test. Check out these pics!

What training did you get as a field preceptor? Many in #EMS would reply, "Not much." In this EMS Educator episode, @UKROBL1, @maiadorsett & @gateshil ask #educators @gingerlockeATX & @ashleyliebig to weigh in on what's important for preceptors to learn. https://t.co/SU1QMQO7K4
This is not the time to digress but to advance professionalism of EMS through quality, progressive, and credible education. Click https://t.co/YHC5JHw7Ph for our program’s comprehensive formal letter of opposition.

While we realize the COVID pandemic has decimated the healthcare industry, it has also highlighted dedication of the EMS professional to community wellbeing.
It took way longer than it should have to get to ride with Alex Scoffone but better late than never! And got to ride with Jennifer Peters Belknap, too! Congrats to Alex and her FTO Robert Spriggs! #WilcoEMS
I had an ESL EMT student in the spring of 2020 who faced tremendous challenges. Living in a camper without wifi. Streaming lecture in parking lots & using materials that I would leave for him to pick up. Doing skills by distance. Tonight he graduated paramedic school.❤️
@maiadorsett@accdistrict The oculus quest 2 device is what we show it on. We record them on the GoPro 360 max and use an array of software including adobe premiere pro, audition, and after effects. As on a computer, the final footage is uploaded on the Quest and viewed through the Oculus TV app.
