After long deliberations in Istanbul, the IPCC decided the key elements of its work programme until 2030: 3 volumes and a Synthesis Report (as during previous cycles), a Special Report on Cities and Climate Change, two methodological reports on Short-lived Climate Forcers and on Carbon Dioxide Removal, Utilisation and Storage Technologies, and an update to the 1994 #IPCC Technical Guidelines on impacts and adaptation, including adaptation indicators, metrics, and methodologies. Tomorrow are the elections for the Presidency of the IPCC. At its 59th session, the various international delegations will elect a new Bureau for the next assessment cycle. If elected, I will ensure that the IPCC becomes the Voice of the Climate.

It was an honour to meet the President of the @UN General Assembly, Ambassador @Csaba_Korosi_ (@UN_PGA). We discussed the essential synergies that exist between climate action (SDG n°13) and the other SDGs, and the importance for the IPCC to be as relevant as possible, so that science can be used as a strong foundation for good decisions.

As the Climate Change and Environment Focal Point of UNICEF Somalia @unicefsomalia, I represented @UNICEF at the Somali Government's Ministry of Environment and Climate Change @MoECC_Somalia's initiation workshop to review/refine Somalia's Nationally Determined Contribution (NDCs) and to begin the development of thier NDCs implementation plan.

Somalia's commitment to contributing its quota to the Paris Agreement, irrespective of its numerous conflicts and hazards, is commendable.
