On May third the Florida Chapter of the American Communist Party made its way to immokalee Florida to carry out a remodeling of the Cultivate Abundance community Garden in the heart of the town.

This garden and various other collective projects in the area lay the foundation for the independence of the people of immokalee. Immokalee Florida is host to a robust and tight knit community of agricultural migrant workers and families.

A key tenant of the Florida Chapter is to come to the aid of all workers in the state regardless of background, trade, or location. By engaging with the rural communities throughout the great state of Florida we hope to encourage and facilitate the development necessary to build the independence and self governance of Floridas workers.

ACP Ontario is committed to defending the memory of Canadian and Soviet veterans of World War 2 and rekindling the solidarity that brought the fascists to their knees.

On May 11, 1894 workers at the Pullman Palace Car Company in Chicago went on strike. Company leadership consistently dismissed and ignored worker grievances. The last straw came when a workers' delegation presenting grievances to company leadership were unjustly fired. In a show of solidarity, the American Railway Union (ARU) began a boycott of Pullman cars on June 27. The boycott brought railroad traffic in the Midwest to a standstill as 125,000 workers across 29 railroads refused to handle trains using Pullman train cars.

Alarmed by the growing strength of the strike, company representatives leveraged their government contacts to secure a federal court injunction prohibiting the ARU from continuing the boycott. On July 4, President Grover Cleveland dispatched troops to Chicago. The arrival of troops only angered strikers, and resulted in national guardsmen shooting into a crowd of workers, killing thirteen and wounding dozens. The intervention of the federal government eventually led to the defeat of the strike by September.

Corporations fear an organized working class, and weaponize the government to neutralize national strikes such as the 2022 railroad labor dispute under President Biden. Although a strike was averted in 2022, federal intervention on behalf of corporations demonstrates the potential leverage of transportation workers in railroads, airlines, and trucking.
