Trying to change Colonizers systems to meet the needs of Indigenous Peoples will never work. Efforts like this are wastes of time and only lead to assimilation. Transformational change for Indigenous Nations will only happen when Indigenous systems are uplifted and rebuilt.
Med Twitter: are there any other Indigenous docs with braids? I think I only know of two others in 🇨🇦 There has to be more of us? 🤞🏽
If so, would love to meet you - our young people need to see more braids in medicine ❤️ #BraidsIntoMedicine should be my new campaign 😬

Sending love today to Black people for seeing images of Confederate flags all week.
Sending love today to Indigenous people for seeing appropriation and mockery of ceremonies all week. /1
