It's almost like this Marner guy wasn't the problem in Toronto. Maybe just being surrounded by gamers instead of whiners is an important element for success. Who would have thought?
The good news is that the Hurricanes play a style the Habs hope to perfect over the next 3-5 years. The bad news is that the fanbase will expect them to be dominant next season. They are ahead of schedule. Patience.

Personally, I would have found a way to get Gallagher in tonight's lineup. When your back is against the wall and you need a spark -- anything, really -- you should count on your leaders and warriors. Gallagher is both.

If you're out here bragging about how you shipped 100K LOC this week alone, you're not a 100X engineer. You're not a 10X engineer. You're not even an engineer.
You are a sciolist. A slopmonger.
@Rick1042 It's funny how quickly the goalposts get moved in a hockey-crazed market starved for success.
By all measures, this season has already been a success for the Habs. They're just not there yet.
But yeah, in a few days we'll find out which players hate to lose.
It was fun while it lasted. And by that, I mean game #1 of the ECF. The Canes are the better team and it's not even close. They are executing their game plan to perfection.
The Habs aren't hobbled by injuries like the Avs; they're humbled by maturity and precision.

When the refs pull one guy from a nothing scrum at the end of the second period, it proves that nothing matters. If Carolina extends their lead to 5- or 6-0, I would expect to see some nastiness.
I'll say this about Montreal's penalties and the officiating: the next one needs to hurt. Hurt the Habs so they stop taking penalties? Sure.
Or, preferably, something that causes Carolina to think twice about every single decision.
Run the goalie? Sure. Call it even.

It's not an Eastern Conference Finals for the Habs until the other team realizes they can try to take out our goalie with zero repercussions.
