🇬🇧 MG Metro 6R4 Group B
Colin McRae and co-driver Nicky Grist thrilled motorsport fans by driving this legendary Austin Rover Metro 6R4 at the 2006 Donegal International Rally in Ireland.
Competing just for fun in the iconic Group B car, they won the National class by 7.5 minutes and finished 8th overall, famously driving flat-out with legendary car control.
McRae and Grist entered the 2006 event, famously hustling the old Group B beast against modern World Rally Cars.
They consistently stayed in the top 10 despite the tough competition, putting on an incredible show.
During a high-speed section of the rally, McRae misjudged a tight junction and overshot the corner. As they approached at phenomenal speed, he locked the rear brakes and executed a spectacular, high-speed pirouette down an escape road.
Instead of panicking, the pair erupted into laughter and immediately continued.
The car was spotted heading to Lydden Hill near Dover in Kent, to be displayed for the Lydden Legend Festival which was held over the weekend.
Amazing to see the car being driven to the event and not on the back of a hidden trailer 🤯
