The Mahanadi Basin has yielded encouraging news from the deep waters off Odisha, underscoring the immense potential of India’s offshore frontier.

@ONGC_ has struck gas in the deep waters of the Mahanadi Basin off the Odisha coast. The initial encouraging flow from its maiden deepwater well under the SamudraManthan campaign marks a significant step towards strengthening India’s indigenous energy and advancing deepwater exploration.

This progress reflects the vision of Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri @narendramodi Ji to harness the immense potential of India’s vast offshore resources across the country for strengthening our energy security.

Together with other discoveries in the region, this find adds fresh momentum to deepwater exploration and reinforces confidence in India’s frontier basins to build a secure, resilient and Atmanirbhar energy future.

In his closing remarks at the BRICS Session on Inclusive Global Governance and Strengthening Multilateralism, Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri @NarendraModi Ji underlined that the true measure of multilateralism lies in its ability to deliver. He also called for translating the consensus reflected in the Declaration into stronger partnerships, meaningful action and tangible outcomes.

From his early association with ABVP to his long and dedicated service as a BJP karyakarta and public representative, Nagesh Ji remained committed to the organisation and people of Karnataka. His simplicity, dedication and warmth will always be remembered.
