Caroline Lucas, "Water companies had no debt when privatised. They have since borrowed £52 billion and paid £72 billion in dividends. Meanwhile we have a sewage scandal. Privatisation of water was a serious mistake and it needs to be permanently rectified."
Today Shell revealed a 14-fold rise in profits: Up to £12,000,000,000.
Also today the energy price cap is set to be raised by more than 50%: to almost £2,000 a year.
And whose side are the Tories on?
This week Tory MPs refused to vote for a windfall tax on fossil fuel giants.
@virginmedia I should pay £27P/M, confirmed by numerous people at your business, but for some reason you keep charging me £51 P/M. Said this was due to a discount not being added at the start? I have no PPV or assets. I just want to pay what I agreed for your services. It’s been 5 months!
Awful customer service from @virginmedia. Overcharged my account from their admin error and when I highlighted this to them they refused to give me a refund and said it has to be used as a credit for future bills. Pretty sure this is not legal!
@virginmedia You haven’t applied a discount that was added to the account when I set it up, even though 3 people have said they would, so you keep trying to charge me £51 a month for broadband only but this month you took out a lot more.
@virginmedia Spent another hour on the phone to @virginmedia as they overcharged me AGAIN. Admin error not altered from the last calls. This month they took 10 times what I should pay?? Wasting my time on hold for your error and putting me into my overdraft. Not happy. #cantspendapologies
Retweet if you think that, before the government even considers raising taxes, it should first recover the tens of billions of our money it gave to its friends’ firms that failed to deliver.
@virginmedia I got through to your call centre and have arranged for my bank to return the money. Really disappointing customer service as I was told I could not get a refund on the first call and the mistake I highlighted was not sorted out as promised, so had to go though it all again.
@virginmedia Hi, I would like your help now please as your company continues to take an incorrect amount of money out of my account after they had agreed to use the money they had already taken without consent as credit. I have now paid £204 for three months of just internet? #shocking
Conservative MPs have decided that the NHS won’t be protected from future trade deals after all.
It doesn’t take a brain surgeon to figure out why.
Please RT if you think everyone should know what is going on.

There are now 46,000 NHS staff off with Covid.
This is a direct result of the government choosing *not* to make staff first priority for vaccines.
Quite apart from how devastating that decision was for NHS morale (are we, basically, expendable?) it was also staggeringly stupid.
For the fact that we have terms and conditions that a person couldn’t read in 3 life times yet we have to tick the box in order to use a service or whatever, and we ALL KNOW IT, but act like it’s normal, will never sit well with me as a human.
God is vex.
But the public already pays for the NHS. In taxes. Perhaps if multinationals didn’t engage in offshore tax dodging and billionaires were actually taxed on their wealth, the NHS wouldn’t have to be a charity appeal
