Hot but smooth day down in the (305) today. Delivering 1.4 lbs of sand via 12 healthy columns per square foot with a double Maximus app. The ADJ boys are firing on all cylinders in the thick of season. Could not be more proud of this team and their product right now. #PoundSand
@AaronOhloff@tonynyssegcs Thanks Aaron. El Niño was the driver behind this modification. Trying to provide another tool for our clients to push through adverse conditions.
Introducing DryJect “Hydra”. A modified manifold to drop injection point to just above ground level resulting in a fast effective venting and lateral fracturing process using water only with minimal surface disruption. Thank you @tonynyssegcs for providing the testing grounds.
@AaronOhloff@tonynyssegcs Valid question. Minimal water used but the aim is to break through the compaction layer up top to restore pore space and increase percolation to a permeable profile below. If there is a layer deeper below, we have a Summer time cure for that goes by the name of Maximus.
We are monitoring a tropical disturbance in the Bay of Campeche near the tail-end of a Gulf Coast cold front that could end up impacting Gulf states in a few days. While poorly organized right now, thunderstorm activity is increasing, and this system has a chance to develop into a tropical storm later this week.
Environmental conditions won't be a slam dunk here. The cold front is associated with the upper-level jet stream, causing strong wind shear along the Gulf Coast that disfavors an organizing storm. However, the position of a series of shortwave troughs over Texas through ~Friday also facilitates strong upper-level divergence over the Gulf near a jet streak entrance region, which could help the disturbance fight off the wind shear a bit.
Computer models are splitting into two broad camps:
1. Most AI-based models (see AIFS example) show the system moving northeast more quickly, prior to the Texas shortwave trough lifting out. This would place the storm in the most favorable position to intensify, and would bring it into the central or eastern Gulf Coast by the weekend.
2. Several physics-based models (see ECMWF example) are slower to lift the disturbance northward, allowing the Texas shortwave to exit and the favorable jet dynamics to subside, giving way to a more purely hostile environment for a potential tropical storm. The result is a weaker, messier storm that waits until next week to attempt a move toward the Gulf Coast, if ever.
Significant uncertainty remains in this scenario, but this disturbance is one to watch this week. Even if a strong storm is avoided, heavy rains may stay in the forecast for portions of the Gulf Coast. Keep an eye on the forecast from the National Hurricane Center, which currently gives a 70% chance of a tropical cyclone forming.
7 years ago today, the most apocalyptic satellite loop imaginable became a nightmarish reality.
185 MPH Hurricane Dorian, stalling out over The Bahamas for more than 24 consecutive hours.
You're looking live at El Niño going "full-tilt" to start meteorological fall. Once in a lifetime event.
Three monster hurricanes in E. Pacific w/Hawaii splitting the uprights.
Moisture from Hurricane Marie is going to inundate U.S. desert Southwest with major monsoon!
Putting a bow tie on our 10th and most productive August to date. Fortunate to spend time at some phenomenal places with some brilliant clients. Plenty of meat left on the bone, but wanted to express our gratitude to those who have trusted in the DryJect process. #PoundSand
I suppose I can let the world know...
I will be the next Golf Course Superintendent at the Fisher Island Club in Miami Beach. I am beyond excited and beyond grateful for all the support I've had throughout my career.
@GCM_Magazine@GCSAA Like all things in golf (& life, for that matter) there are limitations. I’m not sure why anyone w/ general knowledge of spraying would try to spray over trees. Multiple points in this article highlight why we are required to have applicators licenses. Same w/ drone applications
Finished off our DryJect week this past Friday at the beautiful new Miakka Golf Club.
What an amazing project, thank you Terry for having us out!
2 more months until the season is concluded, the grind continues.

Proud of our team at The Old Course at Broken Sound for the work they put in preparing the course for this week's @southfloridapga Pro Scratch. Great playing conditions in the middle of summer and between aerifications are a reflection of their hard work!
@garvoca73 Maximus is a configuration modification to the DryJect platform which allows larger sand columns to be injected at greater depths and higher rates. Ken Siems is the guy to talk to in your neck of the woods. All the best.
What renovation? Multiple Maximus applications each year for the past 10 seasons to these 20+ year old greens continues to keep these profiles performing as they should. Short term investment for long term gains. #Maximus#NoNonsense#PoundSand
