This weekend solidifies my stance about football being one of the most unsafe sports. TBI, Heat illness, C-Spine, aren’t even 100% avoidable with the safest protocols in place.

Not gonna lie, sometimes I wonder why I chose a profession that despite its large impact, is still SO misunderstood by the rest of society, including other medical colleagues. Makes continuity of care so much harder when they won't communicate restrictions/clearance/POC to me.
Coaches, ADs, Parents & Athletes
Make an effort to thank your athletic trainers for looking out for the health and safety of our athletes.
Their hours are long & often into the evening & weekends, are often underpaid & taken for granted.
A little appreciation goes a long way.

Hats off to this high school coach for his squat lesson on this day. Learning proper technique at a young age is crucial not only for enhancing performance but minimizing risk of injury. We need more coaches like this for our youth!
