Africa needs bold solutions, fearless mindsets and scale from collective efforts in order to take advantage of its incredible opportunities as well as face its numerous challenges. I have therefore found myself thinking back to January's groundbreaking 'Ecosystem Connect Days' organized by @AFIGFunds. In doing so, I was reminded of the incredible power of collaboration as a means of developing intelligent solutions that can create opportunity in Africa.

Bringing together over 50 of our stakeholders from across Africa and outside of it, we set out to redefine PE in Africa starting with changing how we work and learn from each other. This inspiring group included portfolio companies, like-minded partners, AFIG Funds alumni and our own dedicated team.

The most powerful insight was that a people-centric approach is crucial to leading organization to success. This confirms our long-standing belief that understanding and prioritizing the needs of people, rather than solely focusing on products, leads to greater success in Africa’s environment.

The resilience and ingenuity of our portfolio companies continue to inspire. Witnessing their exceptional performances confirms that those whom we are fortunate to partner with in order to navigate this often tough landscape are truly remarkable. I am excited to continue applying what we've learned and to keep pushing the boundaries of what we can achieve together.
