Oregonians just sent a clear message: enough is enough.
Oregon overwhelmingly rejected a gas tax hike that would’ve raised costs on working families already feeling the pinch.

AFP OR was in DC this week with a clear message: Our affordability crisis is driven by government red tape. Housing, energy, healthcare, costs keep climbing because regulations keep slowing everything down.
Cut the red tape. Lower the costs.

Today’s pick: Thomas Edison 💡
Fun fact: he held 1,000+ patents—including the light bulb—and once said genius is “1% inspiration, 99% perspiration.”
DYK: In 1775, Patrick Henry stood before the Virginia Convention and declared: “Give me liberty, or give me death!” His words helped spark the American Revolution.

Americans play by the rules, but don’t feel like they’re winning: life is still unaffordable. Even with recent progress, decades of red tape can't be fixed overnight.
Along with @LIBREinitiative and @ConcernedVets, we have a plan to expand opportunities & remove barriers. 🇺🇸
We are disappointed lawmakers moved the gas tax referendum from Nov → May. This ignores the intent of Oregonians who collected signatures for a November vote. Thanks to those who stood up to defend Oregonians’s voices.

Oregonians: Protect the Referendum from being moved to May & Stop Higher Taxes!
🗳️Keep citizen referendums in November.
💼Say NO to SB 1507 — don’t raise taxes on families & small businesses.

Today, a party-line committee vote advanced Senate Bill 1599, a measure that would move the vote on the transportation tax referendum to the May 2026 primary election after it was already certified for the November 2026 general election by the Secretary of State.
“When the voters of Oregon take their time to weigh in how they did in such a short amount of time, with almost four times as many signatures as needed…and we’re saying — ‘No, we don't hear you, we don't care. We still want to do it our way’ — It is so disrespectful to Oregon.” - House Republican Leader @LucettaElmer

Great leaders are made through preparation.
Today we had a training with current and future candidates on the fundamentals of economic freedom, empowering them with the tools they need to advance policies that help families, workers, and communities thrive. 🇺🇸
Happy New Year, Oregon! 🎉

🎄 Merry Christmas from AFP Oregon! 🎄
Grateful for Oregonians who believe in freedom and opportunity. Wishing you joy, peace, and hope this holiday season!
The House just passed the PERMIT Act with bipartisan support; a big win for American builders, energy producers, and families.
Modernizing permitting means lower costs, fewer delays, and a stronger future.
What is the PERMIT Act?
✅ Streamlines federal permitting
✅ Cuts delays & lawsuits
✅ Boosts innovation & growth
Americans deserve modern infrastructure without bureaucratic roadblocks. Let’s keep the momentum for progress!
@AFPhq
Special Thanks to Rep. Cliff Bentz!
Your leadership in supporting the SPEED Act helps Oregon and the nation move toward faster, smarter energy development. We also appreciate all champions who voted YES to advance this critical legislation!
