The repeal of WEP & GPO is a testament to the power of our commitment to ensuring fairness and dignity in retirement. This is a historic moment for school leaders, educators, and all public employees who have been unfairly penalized. @stephengroves@AnthonyAdragna
Watching @NBCNewsNow where Senior Business Reporter @ChristineRomans referred to the union's elected leader as a "Union Boss." Why use such a politically loaded term? Fair-minded reporting should avoid pejoratives. Greedy wasn't use before she spoke of corporations. #UnionStrong
House Republicans voted for a plan to cut next year's Labor-HHS-Education funding by $60 billion (29%). Current funding for @USEDgov programs is already billions below the 2011 level in inflation-adjusted terms. Urge Congress to support - not cut - education funding @edfunding
If @FTC approves the Microsoft/Activision merger w/ the labor agreement that we created to protect collective bargaining rights, it would send a game-changing message to corporations: Workers do have a seat at the table & their concerns must be addressed.

No student should be left behind because they don't have internet access to finish their assignments from home. That’s why I fought for funds within the American Rescue Plan to establish this emergency program and provide the hotspots, tablets, and Wi-Fi they need.
For example, a Chicago survey shows less than 17% of principals thought the district is prepared to open schools; only 28% of school leaders thought CPS provided sufficient reopening guidance; and 22% thought they had adequate staff to reopen. @maggiemfox@cbinkley
School leaders, the people responsible to reopen schools have been using these protocols outlined by @CDCDirector since July. We know what it takes to open schools, communities need to understand what resources are needed to make it work. @laurameckler@fran_chambers@emilyakopp
We especially know Cardona's experience as a principal provides him the greatest understanding of what school leaders need to create, implement and enhance the proper school learning environment for all children to learn and grow academically and personally. @CNN@MSNBC@FoxNews
