Today in art class 3 have been continuing our work on experimenting with colour mixing. Today was all about the colour green and we explored how to create different shades of green. We then created our own ‘green fingers’ artwork! 🟡➕🔵🟰🟢

Today in Science class 3 have been on a hunt looking for signs of spring. We discussed what is different in spring time compared to winter. We observed that flowers are starting to grow, leaves are starting to grow on trees and the weather is changing.

In DT today we followed our designs and made our own fruit smoothies! They were delicious! 😋🍓🍌🍇🍏🫐

In DT we became chefs. We have been learning how to prepare various fruits and vegetables by chopping, peeling and grating.

Today in science class 3 received a message from Mr Bunting asking for our help. He wanted to know which materials would be the best to keep his lunch dry. We had to investigate which materials were waterproof. Some of our sandwiches stayed dry however some ended up very soggy!

Today in art class 3 created our own artwork inspired by the artist Bridget Riley. We explored different lines including vertical, horizontal, diagonal, cross hatch, wavy and broken.

In science today class 3 went on an Autumn walk around school. We gathered lots of autumn treasures and talked about seasonal changes. We learnt trees where leaves change colour and fall off are called deciduous trees.

Today in science class 3 have been exploring our sense of taste. We used describing words like salty, sweet, sour and savoury to describe the different tastes.

In Art we have been inspired by the artist Jasper Johns and his artwork ‘numbers in colour’. We created our own art work in the style of Jasper using the 3 primary colours. We then explored colour mixing and created our own secondary colours orange, green and purple.
