The spirit and mindset of "Agile" is alive and well. However, in my observation; when compliance, certification, and/or bureaucracy are involved this spirit is dampened and failure to apply agile methodologies becomes commonplace.
"Agile" isn't dead as some would have us think. It isn't dying at all. As I see it, where it can flourish it does. It's just not suited for the places where is it unable to take root.
Transforming to an Agile Methodology is merely a tool to meet a transformation goal. Transformation to an "Agile Mindset", however, is a perhaps a reasonable transformation goal.
“The purpose of agile transformations is a transformation, a change of the current ways - to better support the flow of value.
The goal is not agile - the goal is to improve.” https://t.co/7puPxBmp9w

@ptevis, thanks for listening in on our webinar yesterday. Did I do an adequate job of summarizing your presentation on Leadership Empathy?
Let us know how we can learn more!
A leader I've been informally coaching recently told me that she is proud of what her team has done. She continued by saying that "Their success felt better than anything she had accomplished herself recently."
My response, "That means you are doing it right!"
Fledgling ProdM converted from SME:
What advice do you have for me?
Me:
1) Strive for small stories. If it is unclear how to do this work with the team to learn. It will be hard, but a noble endeavor.
2) Lose your ego. Challenge assumptions; use experimentation to validate.
I want to thank @bsktcase for the recommendation of "User Manuals" for helping teams be more inclusive of each other. This has resonated with everyone I've discussed it with.
Cheryl's session on "Diversity without Disclosure" made it to my top take-aways from #Agile2019.
