@lyft Your support team already explained it:

1. You can’t cancel a ride once it started
2. Therefore all started rides are completed
3. Completed rides are ineligible for full refund

These are your policies.

Hey @lyft

Your driver ran out of gas and left me alone in a hot car on the side of a busy highway for over 30 minutes. Your support system did not help at the time and refunded me less than half the ride.

You lost a lifetime customer and advocate. Hope it was worth it.

AI adds so much garnish to the writing, that it ruins the flavor.

PC shift: ~10 years.
Web shift: ~5 years.
Agentic coding: 2-3, possibly less.

The first two expanded the profession. This one compresses it. @docondev shares thoughts on the pattern, and where the time actually goes: https://t.co/aQujVfSx8D

Cyclomatic complexity, method length, naming conventions: every one of those metrics was a workaround for human cognitive limits. Agents don't have those limits. So what survives, and what gets renegotiated? @docondev shares reflections on craft:

Every abstraction we've built since assembly was a subsidy paid to human cognition, funded by hardware. Take humans out of the inner loop and the rationale weakens.

@docondev shares a prediction about what languages and frameworks look like next:

You also get what you let slide.

Not every story needs to be delivered.
Not every feature needs to be built.
Solving the right problem matters more than completing the backlog.

No trust, no candor.
No candor, no clarity.
No clarity, no progress.

Your architecture is what you’ve implemented - not what you label it, not what the autocrat of architecture put on paper, not what the magistrate of methods mandated, but whatever was actually done in the code.

The behaviors you promote set expectations.
The behaviors you ignore set the culture.

Empowerment isn’t about gathering opinions before deciding.
It’s about giving the team the authority to decide for themselves.

Waiting to deliver means waiting to learn.
And the longer you wait, the bigger the risk.
