Molecular microbiologist in industry. Travel. Scuba. Reading. You don't expect me to have figured it all out, do you?! Ha! she/her (Dr.) Opinions are mine.
Is this why I’m up at 2:30 am during my freaking vacation with my brain considering options to take for what would technically be a pay cut for more work?! It’s been 15yrs since my PhD…
That “in between” time when you can’t let go of things on your plate but you’re also trying to prepare people that you’ll actually be dumping all your plates in the near future without formally telling them yet because details are still in the works & nothing is signed…
Why do some people need to be so frigging worried about things YOU have already considered & are not worried about & actually only involve yourself. If I say I can make the situation work then just leave it be. 🙄 It’s not that big it’s a deal!
At that tipping point where you are anxious whichever way things go and don’t know which way you even want things to go. The bounce will be high either way…
How to handle request for new work commitments when you are also somewhat applying elsewhere & have no idea if/when those will bite? Could be a few or many months before you actually hear back from those applications. Meanwhile those opportunities would also add to your resume.
Funny how filling out a document to explain what you have accomplished in your career & hence how you meet the competency profile can make you feel both accomplished and dumb at the same time.
@pedromics ?! I’ve just always taken that anything after the salutation which then goes on another line is the start of a new sentence which needs to be capitalized! Never seen it otherwise to question it...
@pedromics But figured the typo went along with the un capitalized “Your” at the beginning of the letter? Albeit “You’re” would have added cringe worthiness too! 🤣
@katiesci Made it for my niece who is 2.5 yrs so she’s probably not going to care much. But guess she’s not going to be taking it in her dorm package or anything when she’s grown. :)
When you're both trying to appreciate the great place you're currently working at & yet worried on how long to stay before other opportunities became harder to get as you're further away from your scientific training. Oh & throw in the usual imposter syndrome & anxieties...
