@msediewyatt Where were all the people who wanted to give free tampons & pads when I was a poor kid with a mom who told me I had to use cut up old towels, because she was not buying period supplies? I had to babysit, clean houses, and cut lawns for $1 an hour (in the 80’s) to buy them myself.

@Provokatov It sounds like the doula is making it all about herself and her needs when the focus should be entirely on the pregnant mother she was hired to help. Your friend shouldn’t have to worry if her doula is comfortable during her birth process.

@othingstodo_com And yet, somehow, we grew up to be helicopter parents. I tried parenting my 1st two kids in the way I was raised, but got judgement from other parents & saw stories about how parents were being charged with neglect. By the time my 3rd child was born, I sheltered her as expected.

@singingbirth This was my experience with my daughter as well. As soon as she learned to talk, she was so bubbly and excited to meet other kids her age. She would go right up to them and introduce herself and ask them their names and hobbies. They just looked at her with their mouths open.
