Students and staff in our public schools are working incredibly hard in difficult circumstances. Time and again in this pandemic we’ve seen our schools bear a significant portion of the weight. Making safe in-person school a priority requires a community effort. 1/2
Had a building leader approach me today about creating a more diverse and inclusive learning environment. His proposal will be heard by our school leadership and he will have an opportunity to make his vision a reality.

The people at the capital don’t represent the people I know on the right. The people smashing in the windows and looting didn’t represent the people I know on the left. We are better than this.
Remember when taking a knee was a big deal?
Remember when the lives people of color wasn’t?
Remember when protest was wrong?
Remember when invading the capitol wasn’t? STOP IT.

But now we must live with the enormous and unimaginable loss. Americans will carry this collective grief for decades.
