@FWphilclarke Our ballot last August has now been confirmed by the official ballot result which AHDB and NFU encouraged us the trigger if we felt the levy was poor value for money, now both probably wish they hadn’t !
It’s a shame now AHDB have opted to “Trumpism “ reluctant to concede 🤔
@natalie_msb@potatodoctor What you will find is Organisations Chairman and NFU are not Levy payers , It makes their job much easier to have an organisation such as AHDB because they are not paying for it 😤
According to them levy payers want to keep it , we will soon find out If that’s true!
@natalie_msb@potatodoctor@AhdbReview Nothing wrong with the staff, most seem pleasant enough, it’s nothing personal.
The management for the previous 12 years is the problem v our ever eroding margin = We can’t afford the upkeep of an over bureaucratic organisation that doesn’t give value to levy payers.
@natalie_msb@timyoung82@dgwhoyles@TheAHDB@AHDB_Potatoes AHDB use many research institutions around the UK to do their work together with the commercial sector that does much more than AHDB and will continue, If you get your own research done or by doing your own trials you can claim up to 230% tax relief something your levy can’t.
The current AHDB statute will remain for future possibility of another Yes or No vote in a ballot. Nicholas Saphir has now confirmed this will remain.
However he has also confirmed the Parliamentary time had been booked to allow changes to the Statute in future. What changes?
@ade2591#AHDB horticulture ballot
The ballot is now open, either online vote or postal vote .
If you are able to vote online it will be the safest, less chance of errors spoiling the ballot paper , only an X not a tick will validatethe paper vote.
Any other mark or text will invalidate.
@Barberadibley We have had 2 meetings with Horticulture and Potato Chair Ali Capper.
It seems as they rather not rock the boat and even though 74% are their own members they still support AHDB , they believe their is a silent majority. If our ballot was an election no voters don’t count!
@Jonesthejourno@TheAHDB@FarmersGuardian Obviously you don’t know about Horticulture.
AHDB don’t know what to do to benefit levy payers to provide value for money.
Horticulture’s not commodity crops, we must fight for market and margin, without subsidy.
Soon you will have the same pleasure then you might understand !
