@AHDB_Hort Just another tick box exercise and lip service, try looking closer to home and ask the question, why has so much money from growers been extorted who can't afford to pay over last decade? Mental health issues often are money worry related . Statutory levy is part of the problem.

Trouble is @ahdb aims their communications at an audience who haven't invested and probably aren't at the cutting edge of Horticulture , doesn't mean they don't do a good job, all producers should be able to earn a living without having to share levy with AHDB

800,000000 pounds taken out of growers by ahdb by coincidence 250,000000 pounds now sit in their pension fund how does that work in the mean time thousands of growers have gone out of business,well done ahdb you are doing a great job (for yourselves)

One AHDB board member says 13.5 million spent over all 6 sectors on research and this board member says 80% of Horticulture's 8 million levy is spent on research. As for 9.7% cost to survive begs belief do they pluck these figures from thin air? Accounts say completely different.

@peter_levy We are a group of growers in Lincolnshire with support from around the country of a couple hundred growers who either can't afford to pay the AHDB statutory Levy or think it's a dreadful waste of money.
Yet AHDB pension fund is growing over 30 million each year now over £300M 😤

I foolishly loaned some equipment to AHDB a few years ago , When I couldn't afford to pay the Levy I asked for it back and I'm still waiting for it to be returned but didn't stop them issuing a court order , I issued an invoice and they chose not to pay ! 😤
