Rained on our annual residency cookout ☔ Didn’t matter. Volleyball court was 🔥, the energy was unmatched, and watching our new class realize what they signed up for = priceless 🏐 New year, new team, same chaos we love 🩺❤️

The future of heart care is here! 💚 AHN Allegheny General Hospital has recently completed a $19M renovation and expansion of the @AHN_CVI cath & EP lab suite. We're proud that advancements like these have equipped AGH to be among the first in the country to offer pulsed field ablation (PFA) for AFib. Learn more: https://t.co/UmiE7Y927U

Exciting future for GI ahead 🌟
“You cnnot help change the system without fully understanding the system”. That realization spurred me on a quest to better understand the legal underpinnings of the US healthcare system.
You see, while attempting to raise awareness about the social determinants of health and how they shape and perpetuate health disparities, I became aware that social determinants are downstream from the political determinants of health; the laws, regulations and statutes that govern how our healthcare system operates.
The need to better understand this led me to enroll at Loyola University School of Law, from which I graduated today with a Master of Jurisprudence (MJ) in Health Law and Certificate in Healthcare Compliance.
The last 2 years have been eye opening as I delved into administrative healthcare law, drafting policies and procedures, conducting internal investigations, advanced FDA law, healthcare financing, business organization, legal research, legal writing, enterprise risk management, and various other facets of healthcare law and compliance.
I believe that through this process I have gained the necessary theoretical and practical knowledge to become a better proponent of, and advocate for, healthcare policies that will better the lives of those who are less fortunate. This will also help me as a physician and healthcare leader who seeks to serve from a truly informed perspective.
Special thanks to my family for your enduring support. Your presence and understanding meant a lot to me.
Thanks also to all my colleagues at work for your encouragement and patience dealing with my episodes of mania fueled by lack of sleep🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣.
Looking forward to sharing my MJ Thesis when it’s published.
