Over the past two months, we’ve stayed focused on keeping the world moving. With #UAE airspace now fully restored, we are scaling up operations, increasing flight movements in line with available regional routing capacity and enabling airlines to progressively restore their schedules.
Despite regional #airspace disruption, we’ve remained operational and adaptable by supporting the safe journey of more than 6 million guests, over 32,000 aircraft movements, and more than 213,000 tonnes of essential cargo through @DXB and DWC airports.
Operating under constantly changing conditions requires real-time coordination across the entire oneDXB airport community.
From airlines to ground teams, our partners and stakeholders have worked together to ensure safe, stable and consistent operations, ensuring the safety and welfare of our passengers at every stage of the journey. This period has reinforced the strength and resilience of our network, and our ability to respond quickly in a complex operating environment. As capacity returns, we are ready. Demand for travel through #Dubai remains strong, and we are moving quickly to support the next phase of growth.

The careful demolition of some of the airside buildings at Terminal 1 is now underway – a building that has welcomed millions of passengers between 1968 and its closure in 2015. How will this iconic space make way for the airport’s future?
Project Manager George Tsiamtsouris shares that these works will allow key operational functions to be relocated, making room for Terminal 2’s new baggage system and supporting the terminal’s future expansion.
The work is being carried out with precision, safety and care alongside live airport operations. In addition, the project teams are aiming to recycle up to 95% of the materials arising from the site, significantly reducing waste and supporting more sustainable construction.

🚨 Wizz Air UK Approved For US Flights 🇺🇸
Ultra cheap airline Wizz Air UK has officially received regulatory approval from the United States Department of Transportation to operate flights between the United Kingdom and the US. While the airline currently plans to operate charter flights for European football teams and fans traveling to the 2026 World Cup, this authorization gives the airline the exact legal permission needed to start regular transatlantic passenger operations in the future ✈️. Wizz Air will use the new Airbus A321XLR aircraft, which has the specific fuel capacity and flight range required to fly nonstop from Britain to the American East Coast.
This regulatory approval means cheap transatlantic travel for everyday passengers could happen again.
In previous years, airlines like Norwegian and WOW Air operated flights between Europe and North America but ultimately ended those services because of high operating expenses. Wizz Air has very low operating costs, meaning the airline could sell very cheap tickets if they decide to begin regular scheduled passenger flights.
However, many passengers would opt for other airlines, as operators like Wizzair are not designed for luxury, and often seat comfort, cabin space, and in-flight entertainment is geared more towards flights shorter than 4 hours.
