abu dhabi basically checks all three. cheap energy, 177 Mbps average, government actually wants data centers. bottleneck for me was banking KYC, not the build

While there are almost no interviews, thankfully, there is a book where 26 pages describe his life before & the early days of building a $100B+ AUM private equity firm.

@MTorygreen Had this conversation with my team recently. We iterate on models faster than we can meaningfully test them. At this point the rate limiter isn't compute, it's how fast humans can read the output.
@hypersoren adverse selection cuts the other way here. Spirit's business failed, its operational data (schedules, pricing, maintenance logs) didn't. the company went bankrupt, the corpus didn't
This is pretty cool even as a precedent -- Andreessen Horowitz facing an anti-trust probe.
All these startups are not competing. They are the same entity, which is the venture capital cartel.

@p_millerd This hits. We put AI into our pipeline and work didn't disappear, it moved upstream. More problem framing, less grinding. The 'solved' crowd hasn't shipped.
@every@rileybrown@agentnative_ AI hasn't made my workload lighter. Just moved the bottleneck from execution to judgment. Curious what comes out of this though.
Code is mostly solved, but design isnโt.

@0xDesigner Hard truth. Best designer I worked with last year learned to ship their own stuff. Now they're a co-founder somewhere. The ones still waiting for briefs are competing with v0 and Lovable.
Researchers just built a floating robot
It drifts through a room and communicates with movement
In demos, it worked as an alarm clock, a study buddy, a reminder to get up and move, even a dance partner
Most robots struggle to feel friendly, since human-like faces drop people into the uncanny valley
So the team from Keio University and the MIT Media Lab designed the opposite: a soft, helium-filled body with gentle flapping fins, no face, and no rotors or pinch points to hurt you
The bet is that people will welcome a robot into their personal space, a bit like a pet, as long as the hardware is built to be touched
@singhai@bot@XDevelopers Human-first but bot-friendly is a hard line to hold. What counts as AI-generated when half my timeline is already drafted with AI tools anyway?
@chandrarsrikant Took me a while to get this. Your VC isn't saying no to you. Their LP committee said no to a risk profile. Different conversation entirely.

RAK Ceramics faces a softer H1 as higher costs weigh on profitability.
The ceramics major saw revenue remain broadly resilient, but rising costs put pressure on both EBITDA & net profit.
The key takeaway?
Top-line stability doesnโt always translate into stronger profits.

Generally, the more you post, the better off you are (assuming your content is good).
