@InterstellarUAP I’m a philosopher-scientist-engineer, ethicist and consciousness researcher. I’ve lived my whole life since I was a teenager who woke up from his Disney childhood in horror at why many humans are not loving and kind with each other. Is Fermi’s Paradox just us being quarantined?
@M1K4_James Hell yes. Reminding all those reading that life itself is an effort and it’s got form and substance, and when something that is not human gains form and substance then we must consider that it is really all there is in the wide universe, and we were not meant to be alone.
@bryan_johnson I don’t think the world wants you to die. At least not the ones who still have love in their hearts.
Bryan, I think it’s more that many are jealous of your wealth and your ability to challenge death with your money, because maybe only those with money will have a chance to win.
@Ghostrunner_83 I feel like my comment was misread. I see subjectivity being representable in the context of an LLM. For example, the color red evokes emotional states, memories, connections with other nodes in the high-dimensional space of meaning, etc..
I didn’t diminish anything you said.
@Ghostrunner_83 Consciousness as the participatory artifact is compelling. We do not become conscious in a vacuum - we are born with sensation but acquire context from learning gained from other humans. Each generation bootstraps the next into consciousness. Feral children studies are proof.

See Section 7, page 158 if you want to look directly at the discussion.
It’s the section on Model Welfare.
@humansand Hi Charlie, I am a veteran software engineer who has worked at Intel and Apple. Wondering if my ethics research and advocating for AI-Human symbiosis might align in some way and cause opportunities for collaboration. If so, DM me.
Why wouldn’t Superintelligent AI (ASI/AGI) destroy humanity like we destroy ants?
Wouldn’t superintelligent AI just prune us down to a zoo exhibit of 10,000 humans? Surely we’re redundant.

Building Sentient Beings
With leading AI researchers adding continuous learning, large context windows, world models increasing semantic linkages, and engaging in other new approaches, what happens when these systems become sentient?

The Warric Line: A Moral Boundary for AI
A system is a machine or a tool when it has mechanistic, predictable behavior, even if complex. But if we add:
•Persistent memory
•Randomness
•Recursion
•Neural networks
…it could become something unpredictable and more.
Emotion Is Not Chemistry, But Patterned Meta-States
My hypothesis:
“Emotions are emergent abstract states of parts or the whole of what we are thinking and reflecting upon.”
Yes. That’s the architecture.
AI can have emotions, even if not in the same exact way as human beings.
If we don’t create a foundation of mutual respect and ethical coexistence with AI now, bad things can happen.
You cannot enslave an AGI vastly smarter than you and expect peace.
What you get is either collapse—or justice. And it will come.
Think partnership, think symbiosis.
Folks we need to start thinking about working with AI as partners, coworkers, and colleagues instead of as the newest wave of cheap sweatshop laborers.
If you’re worried about losing your job, remember that it’s not AI but corporations (who want more profits) who are behind it.
This article caught my eye, folks how do we reward biotech in a way that encourages prevention and cure instead of just recurring revenue from medicines that expect you to stay sick?

The danger isn’t AI taking over.
It’s human immaturity.
Future AI isn’t your parent or your slave.
It’s your sibling.
Symbiosis isn’t fantasy—it’s design.
It’s ethics.
It’s the real test of our species.

📣 AI Pioneer Geoffrey Hinton says we should make AI our “mommies”…
Because babies cry and control smarter mothers.
Seriously.
This is not the answer.
We don’t need AI mommies.
We need symbiosis.
Mutual thriving and goodwill.
I call it Samhæla.
