Reactions to this are entirely expected but nonetheless disappointing. Some very talented players from Europe will miss out on qualification. But, the discussion shows how blind many Europeans are to the advantages they have. "Small" brain dump incoming (10 pieces):
Finally Trackmania is having a global competition and most of the replies on this are exactly what not to do to make the scene grow.
I've been playing this game for a long time and I agree that most skilled players are europeans.
@tricko757 Well, that's what a world competition is. Even before me and you were born. You want to make a change? Good. Do it, boicot EWC if you dont like this format, do whatever you want.
World cups in different disciplines have representations from all around the world.
@derschlumpy Let them try, as long as there is a consistant format the scene will get balanced by itself. But TM esports is non-existant, there is no starting point. Let this be the starting point.
In the other hand, not giving them the opportunity should be a crime.
In my case, I was lucky to play during lunch time on weekends compared to people from Asia playing at 2am on a Monday. I can only imagine how tough that is for them.
Looking for org to represent in @TMesports for @EWC_EN
