@Chezakalwe You need to be locked in for an hour+ to get enough points to make qualification worthwhile. Doing that at 2/3/4 am every Sunday morning for 3 months (and one of the tournaments will be held a day later) is a huge disadvantage relative to European and NCSA players.
Reactions to this are entirely expected but nonetheless disappointing. Some very talented players from Europe will miss out on qualification. But, the discussion shows how blind many Europeans are to the advantages they have. "Small" brain dump incoming (10 pieces):
This is the most disappointing part to me because the top guys outside of Europe deserve a lot more respect than what is afforded to them. That's literally all we are asking for. Unfortunately, some people refuse to look past the flag next to their names.
3) You can be critical and frustrated over the slot allocation or regional rules while still being respectful to other regions. The game has changed a lot since Nix and Phegley were invited to TMGL:C 4 years ago, but the public treatment of players globally has stayed the same.
@nixotica Having regional qualifiers is good, but also think that numbers are a bit odd. Personally it feels like they first decided every region should get one slot, realized NA/SA/OCE are better regions than MENA and Asia, then 2x/3x those regions instead of scaling it all to Europe.
For any orgs looking to sign @Trackmania players from the Americas for @EWC_EN, I've made up a short guide to explain all the main tournaments @TrackmaniaNCSA & others host in the region.
