Ugandan who was arrested on August 16th 2023, and charged with the offence of aggravated homosexuality, this offense carries the death penalty under section 3 of the Anti-homosexuality Act 2023. Charges were amended by the office of the Directorate of Public Prosecution (DPP), to Unnatural Offences, under section 145 of the Uganda Penal Code Act. (Old sodomy law). The accused person still remains in prison since the arrest on August 16th 2023.
