The scene inside the Senate & Governmental Affairs Committee room after the feed was cut off and the hearing recessed. This all followed the exchange between State Senators Gary Carter and Jay Morris. https://t.co/WyF4mVxtOf #lagov#lalege#Louisiana@LAFirstNews
Tonight, I led a moment of silence with @RepFields and the Louisiana delegation on the House floor to honor the eight precious children whose lives were taken by senseless, unspeakable evil:
-Jayla Elkins, 3
-Shayla Elkins, 5
-Kayla Pugh, 6
-Layla Pugh, 7
-Markaydon Pugh, 10
-Sariahh Snow, 11
-Khedarrion Snow, 6
-Braylon Snow, 5
The hearts of the entire community are broken, and we continue to pray for all involved—the families forever changed by this violence, the classmates who missed their friends at school today, and the first responders, law enforcement, and local leaders who have been handling this terrible tragedy since Sunday morning. May God comfort them all.
Just my opinion, but there should be a Constitutional remedy for when the President of the United States addresses the nation and everything out of his mouth is either pure lunacy, an unhinged claim or a blatant fabrication.
Just like the 25th amendment, but real.
*America kicks a hornet’s nest*
Republicans: Let’s praise Trump for having the guts to kick a hornet’s nest!
Sane people: What’s the plan for after kicking the nest?
Republicans: Why can’t you just be happy he kicked the nest?
