Yesterday, Hon. @MarthaKarua , SC was denied entry into Uganda while travelling simply to witness the bail hearing of Hon. Erias Lukwago. Turning away a senior member of the profession at the border, even as an observer, strikes at openness in judicial proceedings and at the rule of law itself.
The rule of law is not a slogan. It is the promise that every person can be heard, represented, and treated fairly, and that power answers to the law. EALS remains committed to defending it across East Africa.
