Point being, there’s other factors that play a role in crime rates that make Appalachia to say Chicago a silly comparison. Now, compared to similar size rural areas for crime… fair.
@SmarkersVic@legitjdl Crime is more closely correlated with socioeconomic status than diversity. Appalachia is mostly white, but it’s plagued by poverty, drug use, poor health and poor education outcomes. It seems more whiteness isn’t the answer. The answer is more prosperity and opportunity.
