Reminder: The Miami Heat were the only team in the East this season to NOT make a trade.
Over the years, they have missed out on players like Kevin Durant, Damian Lillard, Donovan Mitchell, Kyrie Irving, Russell Westbrook, Giannis Antetokounmpo, Bradley Beal, and Ja Morant.
They are now 2–8 in their last 10 games and sit as the 10th seed in the East, poised to head to the play-in tournament for the fourth straight season.
Mediocrity.
Anytime you think you’re miserable human with zero optimism about anything, just remember there is the Dan Le Batard show…and you’ll never be as miserable as those guys.
Meant to post this earlier, but here we go.
The @Nolecast has been a passion project for us for 15 years, through some great seasons and some awful. Thanks to passionate fanbase and amazing sponsors, it even turned into an occasionally profitable hobby.
We always tell each other “it’s appointment listening. Don’t put out an episode just to do it. If we wouldn’t want to listen to it, don’t publish.”
But lately, that’s been impossible. Running an FSU-focused podcast at the level we’ve maintained over thousands of episodes doesn’t make sense right now.
We’ll keep the same schedule through the end of our current sponsor deals, and for 2026 our frequency will match the commitment level that the FSU administration is putting in.
When or if that commitment returns under a new administration, we’ll return in full.
@clay_fink The rankings don’t the story. Mike fluffs up his classes by bringing in high ranked players in non-premium positions (WR, TE, S, etc). His classes are stacked with these positions bc they are in less demand/cheaper. These classes are much worse bc of the lack of premiums guys
📷 HEISMAN PORTRAIT OF THE WEEK: @Jaboowins🏆
At just 19 years old, Jameis Winston became the youngest player ever to win the Heisman Trophy at the time, leading @FSUFootball to an undefeated season and a BCS national championship. He became the first redshirt freshman to win both in the same year and the third Seminole to claim the award, joining Charlie Ward (’93) and Chris Weinke (’00).
Winston’s 2013 season was nothing short of historic. He threw for 3,820 yards and 38 touchdowns, earning a 190.04 passer efficiency rating, one of the best in Heisman history. He finished his college career with a 26–1 record as a starter, throwing for 7,964 yards and 65 touchdowns before becoming the first overall selection in the NFL Draft.
