Trump’s attacks on our elections are a five-alarm fire.
We need to call out the lies clearly and directly. He lost in 2020… and his own administration called it one of the most secure elections in history.
Trump suggested the "Deep State" hid from him that China was trying to interfere in our elections...
... maybe he forgot that we personally briefed him on the threat throughout 2018.
Big mistake to make claims living humans can refute.
1/ Imagine a candidate for higher office kept as much as $1 million that was promised to veterans’ charities.
Would that be bad?
Now stop imagining. Let’s talk about Tommy Tuberville. 🧵
Trump has turned the White House into a 24/7 corruption operation. This is a national crisis.
Trump thinks the public will stop paying attention.
So I went to the Senate floor to call his bluff. I told the ENTIRE STORY of his 500 days of corruption.
1/ Here it is - in one🧵
Donald Trump took us to war without a plan. Families have lost loved ones. Billions of dollars have been spent. For what? This “deal” he signed leaves Iran stronger and in control of the Strait, but does little to advance US interests. The “master deal maker” just made one of the worst deals in US history. This is a total capitulation! What’s next, the Russians get Alaska?
Trump was able to quickly put together $300 billion in recovery money for Iran after he decided to bomb it.
He stood in Swannanoa NC not far from my house in October 2024 and said he’d build back bigger, better, more beautiful, and faster than Biden after Hurricane Helene inflicted $60 billion in damage in the Blue Ridge . . . and then he went MIA.
Imagine if @realDonaldTrump cared as much about rebuilding Western North Carolina for Americans as he does about rebuilding Iran for Iranians.
With $300 billion, we could end homelessness, fund cancer research for 40 years, and give every child free pre-K for over 7 years. Instead, Trump is sending it to Iran. This is not America First. Not even close.
Every GOP member of Congress should be asked by the press whether they agree Trump can use $1.7b that we, the taxpayers, paid so gov’t could work for us, as reward money to his supporters.
Reading the entire Bible and broadcasting it to the entire nation while actively taking food, healthcare, clean water, clean air, shelter, due process, and basic human dignity away from people is the exact kind of religious hypocrisy Jesus raged against.
I don’t agree with conservative columnist David French all that often, but I totally agree with his piece today on James Talarico. Here are a few excerpts:
__________
Yet if the primary American divide is between decent and indecent, then the equation changes. Talarico shines.
Or, to put it another way, Talarico is one of the few openly Christian politicians in the United States who acts like a Christian, and by acting like a Christian he reveals a profound contrast with so many members of the MAGA Christian movement that’s dominated American political life for 10 years.
. . . . . .
This miserable political moment won’t end when the left takes back the government from the right or if the right continues to beat the left. It will end when our politicians — especially Christian politicians — forsake cruelty for compassion and realize that we shall know Christians in politics not by their stridency and ideology, but by their integrity and love, including their love for, as Talarico put it, “all of our neighbors.”
That’s the significance of the Talarico moment — not the old news that a Christian can be progressive, but rather that Christian politicians can actually act like Christians. Kindness still has a place in the public square, even if it doesn’t always seem that way.
75 years ago, the 22nd Amendment was ratified.
It’s a good day to remember what the 22nd Amendment ratified: that presidents are limited to TWO terms in office.
No exceptions.
The UAE secretly paid Trump $187 million. Money in his pocket personally. And then Trump overrode decades of national security objections to selling Nvidia chips to UAE because we feared UAE would send the chips to China.
Corruption has consequences.
This is the interview Donald Trump didn’t want you to see.
His FCC refused to air my interview with Stephen Colbert.
Trump is worried we’re about to flip Texas.
