@abhishekaitc When constitutional institutions send conflicting messages, public trust suffers. The @ECISVEEP must provide clear answers, complete transparency & accountability.Democracy cannot function when voters are left questioning the facts #GovtAccountability#AITCITSMCell#WhiteBrigade
Three days after illegally taking down our signboard, the BJP government has suddenly discovered an extraordinary devotion to fire safety. Today, the State Fire Department was dispatched to our party office for a fire audit, with the predictable godi media circus in tow.
Touching concern, indeed.
If only this enthusiasm had surfaced when 4,000 Control Units, 4,000 Ballot Units and 4,000 VVPATs mysteriously went up in flames within a month of the polls.
No urgency then. No spectacle then. Apparently, democracy can burn without an audit but an Opposition party office cannot escape one.
Perhaps the fire audit was simply conducted at the wrong address. Had this remarkable vigilance reached the government office in Alipore in time, the EVMs might have survived.
And perhaps a few masks would have burnt instead.
The passing of Asish Banerjee has left me deeply disturbed.
He spent much of his life teaching and serving society with dedication, always known for his humble nature and close bond with the people of Rampurhat and Birbhum.
What makes this tragedy even more painful is the immense mental and emotional strain he appears to have endured in his final days. As a five-term MLA, former Deputy Speaker and Chairman, Asish Da dedicated himself to bringing development to Rampurhat and undertook a large number of important works for the people. Yet, despite the work he did, he was repeatedly maligned, falsely accused and subjected to relentless pressure.
The harassment and mental pressure he faced, despite his long record of public service, should make all of us pause and reflect on the human cost of relentless political hostility.
My heartfelt prayers and condolences to his family, loved ones, former students and countless admirers.
His absence will be deeply felt, always.
What has Bengal come to?
Raise your voice against the assault on a three-term woman Chief Minister, and the reward is unlawful detention.
Shame on you Kolkata Police!
Your conduct makes it painfully clear whose interests you have chosen to serve.
This is not governance. This is political vendetta masquerading as law enforcement.
LUDICROUS!
Yesterday it was NEET. Today it’s the Odisha PG Medical Exam. Tomorrow it’ll be another exam.
PAPER LEAKS are no longer an exception- they have become THE DEFINING FEATURE OF THE @BJP4India GOVERNMENT’S EDUCATION SYSTEM.
Every leak shatters the dreams of lakhs of students who spend months, even years, burning the midnight oil. Behind every compromised exam is a student battling stress, anxiety, uncertainty and an entire family making sacrifices in the hope of a better future.
A government that cannot protect the integrity of examinations cannot claim to protect the future of India’s youth.
The BJP promised a “New India”. Instead, it has delivered a new normal: leak, outrage, inquiry, cosmetic action, repeat.
How many more futures have to be put on hold before this government takes responsibility?
Why is accountability always an afterthought?
How many more failures do we have to witness?
Remembering the martyrs of 1993, with profound respect and gratitude, on #ShahidDibas.
Their supreme sacrifice remains etched in our collective memory and continues to inspire generations to stand steadfast in defence of democracy, justice and the rights of the people.
Their legacy lives on in our purpose, our principles and our unwavering commitment to serving the people.
I think the BJP government, after coming to power in West Bengal has spent more time registering FIRs against me than delivering Ayushman Bharat and Lakshmir Bhandar benefits to the people who actually need them.
It’s equally interesting to see a section of the media amplify this political vendetta, happily sacrificing basic journalistic ethics to play puppetry for those in power.
The FIRs are being filed by the same politically motivated individuals, targeting my work in public service- offering free medical check-ups and COVID tests, building roads and carrying out infrastructure development in Diamond Harbour. I never imagined that a so-called double-engine government would be so averse to development and good work.
To them and to my friends in the media, I have only one thing to say:- These tactics don’t intimidate me or slow me down. Do what you can. I will keep doing what I was elected to do. 😊
My humble appeal to Millennials and Gen Z:
We have seen how a determined generation of young people can bring even the most powerful governments to their knees. It is a reminder that the real strength of any democracy lies in the power of its people.
At the same time, many celebrities, influencers, sports icons and movie stars chose to remain silent instead of standing with the youth and students of this country. Whether out of fear, caution, or self-interest, their SILENCE spoke volumes.
The next time we stand in a queue to buy a movie ticket, a match ticket or subscribe to a content creator, let us pause for a moment and ask ourselves:-
Does this person truly represent the values I believe in? Have they stood by the people who made their success possible?
If those who enjoy our applause cannot find the courage to stand with the people when it matters most, then maybe it’s time we rethink who deserves our applause.
Who we follow is our choice.
Who we celebrate is our choice.
Who we make famous is our choice.
Remember:
The audience gave them FAME.
The people gave them INFLUENCE.
The youth gave them RELEVANCE.
When history calls for courage, silence is never neutral - it is a choice.
Every ticket you buy.
Every view you give.
Every like, share, follow and cheer- They are not just clicks or purchases, they are ENDORSEMENTS.
Spend your attention as carefully as you spend your money.
Because if they cannot stand with us when it matters most, why should we continue to stand behind them?

On #ShahidDibas, I pay my heartfelt tributes to the martyrs who tragically lost their lives in 1993.
May this day strengthen the resolve of every member of the Maa-Mati-Manush family to uphold democracy, justice, and the rights of the people.
Their sacrifice continues to inspire us, and their legacy will forever remain at the heart of our movement.
The police atrocities on our youth in Delhi is unacceptable. Shame on the Union government. The All India Trinamool Congress fully supports the sit-down protest by the Opposition today near Akbar Road. Our full solidarity.
There were also police atrocities in Kolkata all through last night. BJP goons did all could they could to disrupt preparations for our Martyrs' Day programme. They arrived on motorcycle squads, destroyed signage, vandalised the stage and deliberately cut microphone wires. Many youth were threatened and injured by these goons.
Inspite of all this, our Martyrs' Day program today in Kolkata was very special, supported by our committed grassroots workers and people from across Bengal. We pledge to unitedly fight the atrocities and dictatorial attitude of the BJP.
We will take our fight from Bengal to India. United we stand.
The lawlessness in Bengal is on full display.
Despite SC & HC rulings holding bulldozer demolitions unconstitutional, my Lok Sabha constituency office at Amtala was demolished yesterday.
Videos show @WBPolice carrying away trunks filled with laptops, printers, documents, tables, chairs, and other furniture alongside BJP goons. This was not demolition - It was theft in uniform, carried out with utter contempt for the rule of law and while the matter remains sub judice before the High Court.
Those meant to uphold the law have become lawbreakers.
Shame on West Bengal Police!
TMC Chief @MamataOfficial Di spoke to Sonam sir to enquire about his health. She urged him to stay strong and extended her solidarity to CJP’s movement seeking justice for students.
I sincerely thank Mamata Didi for her concern, solidarity, and support for our cause.
The March on 20 July will take place, as Sonam Sir has decided.
I request all supporters to reach Jantar Mantar. Both our protest and the march will remain peaceful. Anyone who creates any kind of disruption or raises negative slogans cannot be a supporter of Sonam Sir or CJP.
Spontaneous protests broke out across the country today against this dictatorial regime’s actions.
Hyderabad, Ahilya Nagar, Mumbai, Nagpur
More protests will take place tomorrow onwards!
Will the West Bengal Police take any action? The chronology of events is crystal clear. It is evident who was behind this incident and how attacks on elected representatives are systematically orchestrated.
Our Hon'ble Chairperson @MamataOfficial, alongside party leaders and dedicated workers, led a peaceful protest march against the illegal, unjust and deeply inhumane eviction of hawkers across #Bengal.
The people of Bengal have always come first.
Their dignity, livelihoods and rights will be defended with unwavering resolve, and in that fight, no stone will be left unturned.
The ruthless @BJP4Bengal regime, driven solely by greed for power and blatant disregard for ordinary citizens, will soon collapse under the weight of its own anti-people policies!
