This video trended yesterday, but what shocked me was the silence from Igbo women. Whenever it's time to defend themselves against accusations of being unkind to other people's children, they're loud and united. But when life presented an opportunity to challenge that stereotype with a positive example, there was barely a word.

That's my issue. There always seems to be more energy for responding to negativity than for celebrating something positive.

I even made a post pointing out that the act of kindness toward the young girl was done by an Igbo woman. I deliberately watched to see how Igbo women would react. As of now, that post hasn't even reached 10,000 views, 1,000 likes or 10 comments.
