If you assume bad motives, relationships turn into a courtroom.
You read into everything.
You assign intent.
You stay on defense.
Start here.
Their heart is good.
Your heart is good.
That shift changes your home and your community.
Cubs gave up a lot to get Tucker. But it helped them in a very important year.
And by getting him before his free agency, they got to see that he wasn’t their guy. That’s a benefit to a “rental” that I never really thought about.
When our church set a baptism goal, my stomach dropped.
I didn’t set it or ask for it. But the number was determined in a staff meeting and hung in the air anyway.
And we didn’t hit the goal...not even close.
As the months went on, something interesting happened. The number was mentioned less in staff meetings by the Senior Pastor. Less from the pulpit and eventually, not at all.
That season taught me something I’ve never forgotten. Goals can be helpful. But they are terrible masters.
Scripture never gives us control over outcomes.
Only obedience.
“The heart of man plans his way, but the Lord establishes his steps.” (Prov. 16:9)
You can’t schedule repentance.
You can’t manufacture hunger.
You can’t move a human heart by force of will or strategy.
Paul said it plainly: “I planted, Apollos watered, but God gave the growth.” (1 Cor. 3:6–7)
Plans belong in pencil, not stone.
When a church claims to be seeking God, its goals must remain fully submitted to His timing, His work, and His mercy.
Otherwise, we aren’t trusting God.
We’re just trying to manage Him.
The Rose Bowl remains the only entity unapologetically sticking to its guns as the rest of the sport caves the moment a corporate wind blows
Long live the Rose Bowl
Hilarious de ja vu. Dude just named Arch the Heisman favorite for 2026. I remember Dan Fouts saying the same about Vince Young when Michigan and Texas played in the Rose Bowl. We all know how that turned out! #GoBlue#CitrusBowl#cheezitbowl
DeMeco Ryans after the Texans defeated the Chargers:
“The light is shining bright on the Texans but that light is really reflective of it guys belief in our Lord & Savior Jesus Christ. That’s what’s driven our team& I’m so proud of our guys & thankful to the Lord for allowing us to allow our lights to shine though him & just all praise & honor goes to him.”
The thing that isn’t getting talked about is how Kyle Whittingham quit his job at Utah to become the front runner at U of M. (Major Assumption on my part)
A bold move and if that’s the case, a guy who wants to be at a University that badly, might just be unstoppable.
Breaking: Former Utah coach Kyle Whittingham has emerged as the focus of the University of Michigan’s coaching search, sources told @DanWetzel and @PeteThamel.
