It is impossible for interns to be protected by EA since they are not employees

You are not paid a salary and other employee benefits but instead an internship allowance (which is not mandatory)

As intern, you are still a student of the univ. Your prof decides whether you pass or fail. There is no obligation for either the company or yourself to be in with the company after the internship. Not even a single day.

Companies are not obliged to recruit interns and you may not complete yr studies if you dont do internship.

Once gov set rm1.5k for interns, most companies will not take interns anymore. Why, might as well they hire permanent staff who will stay beyond six months, follow training and so on. Worth investing for

So what you shd be fighting for is for universities to stop making internships mandatory (like most courses in UK)
