The Standing Committee on Finance (2025–26) held an informal discussion in Udaipur on “Evaluation of Centrally Sponsored Schemes/Programmes: Budget Allocation and Fund Flow,” with a focus on overall performance in Rajasthan. Sh Niraj Priyadershi, Director (Finance), CWC, made a presentation highlighting CWC’s role and key financial aspects.

Parliamentary Standing Committee Reviews CWC’s Foodgrain Storage Infrastructure in Ladakh

The Parliamentary Standing Committee on Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution (2025–2026) undertook a review of CWC’s operations under the theme “Storage of Foodgrains: Existing Infrastructure and Future Strategy with reference to Ladakh” at Leh on 11 September 2026 .

The meeting was convened by Sh. Arun Singh, Hon’ble Member of Parliament (Lok Sabha), alongside esteemed Members of Parliament from both Houses. The primary objective of the meeting was to evaluate the existing warehousing infrastructure, storage capacity and logistics support provided by the Central Warehousing Corporation within the high-altitude and geographically challenging terrain of the Ladakh region. The proceedings were attended by Sh. Samuel Praveen Kumar, Director (M&CP), Executive Director (Commercial), Regional Manager (Chandigarh Region) ,Director (Storage) ,Department of Food and Public Distribution, other Senior officials of CWC Corporate Office and Regional Office, alongside the officials from the Lok Sabha Secretariat.

The Committee appreciated and commended CWC’s efforts in ensuring scientific storage and uninterrupted warehousing and logistics support in Ladakh, despite the unique challenges posed by the region’s high altitude, extreme climatic conditions, difficult terrain and limited accessibility. The review also provided an opportunity to deliberate upon the future strategy for strengthening and augmenting foodgrain storage capacity in Ladakh, with emphasis on modern, resilient and strategically located warehousing infrastructure to ensure food security and efficient supply-chain operations.

CWC remains committed to supporting the Nation’s food security objectives by extending reliable warehousing and logistics solutions even in the most challenging geographical conditions.

Driving the next phase of rail-led growth at Chennai Port. 🚆

Shri Sachin S. Kurve, Chairperson, Chennai Port Authority (ChPA), and Shri Santosh Sinha, Managing Director, Central Warehousing Corporation (CWC), led discussions on strengthening the Port’s rail quotient and expanding its reach into key hinterlands.

With a focus on markets such as Pollachi, Hyderabad and Mysore, the engagement explored opportunities to shift suitable cargo from road to rail, tap new rail markets, and strengthen end-to-end connectivity.

CWC & GMPL Jointly Inaugurate AI-Enabled GMPL Yard with Advanced IT Infrastructure

In a significant step towards strengthening technology-driven logistics infrastructure, GAIL Mangalore Petrochemicals Limited (GMPL) and Central Warehousing Corporation (CWC) jointly inaugurated the AI-enabled GMPL Yard on 10.09.2026, equipped with advanced IT-enabled systems and smart infrastructure for efficient, secure, transparent and technology-driven container yard operations.

The facility was inaugurated by Sh. Sanjay Kumar, Director (Marketing), GAIL in the presence of Sh. H.K. Srivastav, Executive Director (Petrochemical), GAIL; Sh. Ajay Chitre, Chief General Manager (Marketing–PTA), GAIL; and Sh. A.K. Naskar, Chief Executive Officer (CEO), GMPL, representing GAIL/GMPL, along with Sh. Anil Manik Rao, Executive Director (MIS), CWC, and Sh. Rahul N. Gaikwad, Regional Manager, CWC, RO Bangalore, representing CWC, along with other senior officials and dignitaries from GAIL, GMPL and CWC.

The state-of-the-art IT infrastructure at the GMPL Yard has been conceptualised, established and enabled by CWC, integrating Artificial Intelligence (AI), digital technologies and advanced IT systems to enhance operational efficiency, security and real-time visibility of yard activities. CWC will manage and operate the yard, overseeing container handling and movement, truck entry and exit, surveillance, tracking and other technology-enabled operational functions.

A key highlight of the facility is the *Real-Time Digital Twin of the Yard and Containers*, providing a dynamic digital representation of the physical yard and enabling real-time visibility of container positions, movements and yard activities. This technology is aimed at strengthening operational control, facilitating informed decision-making and improving the overall efficiency and transparency of yard management.
