@megbasham Megan, the biblical word is repentance, and it is not merely a "sorry," but rather a "turning from and a turning to." I know you know that and I would encourage you to use the biblical language without fear.
@dwight_easler@DefiantBaptist@RaymondFava@EvangelicalDW The irony is that the amendment was not a "change," but a polity clarification for the consistent belief and practice of the SBC since it's inception and beyond to Baptists in the historical context.
@megbasham@davidallenreed How is it that these polity experts do not realize that the Amendment -- Law or Mohler -- is to the SBC Constitution not the Constitution of their local church?
@PastorMikeStone It is rather amazing how few Baptists seem to understand autonomy. They conflate it with independence or conversely desire denominationalism and are shocked when none exists.
@AdamPage85@JaredCBurt@DKCaudell We did, sort of. It passed the first time with the required 2/3 vote and there was a battle in the EC to bring it to the floor for the 2nd that saw a majority but not 2/3.
@WilliamWolfe Let's not forget that a few brave EC members bucked the "platform" that tried to bury the Law Amendment for its second vote at Convention, but Messengers could not get it over the top.
@AdamPage85 I've lost two of our Elders to new ethnic work, and sadly, have buried 3 valuable godly deacons and had to remove two others due to church discipline (we tried every recourse). So I am low on leaders right now. God is providing, however and a younger group is now in house.
This Easter, I invite you to look at Jesus, consider what he said and did, and ask for yourself what I believe is the most important question you will ever answer: Did he really leave behind an empty tomb? And if he did, what does that mean for you?

@BradWilcoxIFS I was just 20 and my bride just 18, just 5 months after her high school graduation. Fifty-three Valentines Days celebrated, this year is 49 years married. Love is still strong and we are still thrilled to be soul mates.
@megbasham@JohnPiper Same Bible that commands individuals to love their neighbor also saw God command rebuilding of the walls of Jerusalem and that Joshua, David, and other kings and leaders would purge the Holy Land of pagans.
@23wjohnston@sola_chad The most plausible explanation is that the thief was no mere thief for plain old thieves were not crucified. More likely he was a part of the group led by Barabbas and the three crosses were for the insurectionists until the Jews demanded that Jesus supplant Barabbas.
