Your old military code still counts.
The FAA publishes the list — AC 65-30B, Appendix A. 200 occupational codes across all five services, each with the A&P experience it may credit toward.
And retired codes don't expire. Aviation maintenance experience doesn't age out, so a code the service stopped using still counts.
What it won't tell you is that you qualify. That's an Aviation Safety Inspector's call after they review your actual records. It tells you what the FAA's own list says — which is where the conversation starts.

The FAA Does Not Care What Branch You Served In. It Cares What You Can Certify. | #MXMonday#RTAG
Your A&P is the most direct path from military maintenance experience to a civilian aviation career. The military gave you thousands of hours on aircraft systems. The certificate puts credentials behind what you already know how to do.
Veterans with military maintenance backgrounds often have more qualifying hours than they realize. Do not let paperwork be the thing that keeps you off the civilian flight line.
RTAG has the resources and the network to help you navigate it. Come to the convention!

@AnnaSofiaCHI@EAA No. This was modified in the 1960's with a variety of Supplemental Type Certificates making it an Executive Airplane. They include the rarely seen single Vertical stabilizer, reducing drag and lowering the VMC, also increasing cruise speed.
