@DrTeeeee@dcpublicschools@MayorBowser@DCPSChancellor@WTUTeacher Yup. I get it. And unfortunately I’m went until I was totally burned out. I taught self contained and just couldn’t take it anymore- not the kids but the lack of support. I didn’t listen to myself- for so long. Then I had a panic attack at work.
I’m mourning it. Trust me.
@ExamineBaseball@Learnadvocate @AnnieTangent To me it’s not about credit. It’s about division of labor. The original poster blamed a teacher, who didn’t want a vaccine, for a management problem- staffing. That’s not how this works
@ExamineBaseball@Learnadvocate @AnnieTangent Then I’d still say it’s a structural failure. Why are teachers quitting- not joining the profession? I agree that no one can produce teachers out of thin air- but they are responsible for the reasons schools are understaffed.
@ExamineBaseball @AnnieTangent 💯 and this is more a system failure. It likely wasn’t a surprise to anyone that teacher wouldn’t take vaccine. While I understand the impact it has- it’s an admin failure
The vast majority of folks with student debt are working-class people. The rich simply do not have student debt — again, they're rich. We've asked, but nobody has been able to find this magical multi-millionaire with $35k in student loans.
@EDUwithEmily I wonder if there are teachers without side hustles? 😉 I teach swim lessons and kids yoga. It’s so great to be around kids and families without the pressure of testing
@SecCardona Does anyones letter say your loans are done? I qualified for ten payments (consolidated late) then tonight’s email said I qualify for an additional 112. To my math, that puts me over the top. But they didn’t come out & say it
