Afterall he was the governor who enacted the tax for Puerto Rico. Now the opposition has wasted an opportunity to capitalize this and transform it into a toxic ballot all the way towards a general election.
Politics are strange bedfellows and we could see a share government. 5
@cate_long The painful solution??? A flurry of Article 50’s in the future. Starting with Italy, not now but I believe there will be an event that will trigger this. 2/2
@cate_long This could be something that divides the EU and could fracture the unity of the block and even slim down if there is no plan.
Not having an energetic plan creates disruption and the need to fall back on resources countries haven’t used because of harmful or costly processes.
@cate_long@edeleonsoto@OscarJSerrano2 Cate, the level of cooperation & agreement results in why I receive power today. Inside 36 hours, with Irma wasn't possible as it took a week. FL Utility companies learn from Michael & Irma, they brought some serious support.
This should be the blueprint for others to follow.
Thankful to @DukeEnergy for re-establishing power to my home within 36 hours.
I am with those who haven't received power yet, I only ask for a little patience during this time. Polk was hit but we are rolling our sleeves and getting to work.
#grateful#appreciative#humble
@gene_krauss@cate_long Gene, I certainly agree with your statement but the government needs to find a way to lessen fraud without slowing down too much.
@cate_long@newsismybusines The problem of housing title goes back to before Puerto Rico being a territory of the US. The solution is to create a registry with in conjunction with the property registry of Puerto Rico and the Municipal Property Tax Agency CRIM but there isn’t initiative from the officials.
@cate_long We have in Florida around 2.5 million people with an electric outrage. The line-people will complete their objective of having 85% restablish. I say 85% because of Hardee, Desoto, Charlotte and Lee counties which needs reconstruction of the Power Grid.
Something PR can learn.
@cate_long That tells you the commitment they have to the people. Is a bit of sarcasm as neither can have done what is required to stop the suffering of these American citizens in Puerto Rico. 1
@cate_long What is happening in Florida is because people know about planning, managing and executing objectives. Something that Luma can learn from TECO, Lakeland Electric, FPL, Duke and the rest of the Electric Co-ops.
@cate_long I did read DHS Secretary Mayorkas statement and I notice there was a change on the waiver process for the Jones Act embedded in the William M. (Mac) Thornberry National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2021.

@cate_long Apologies Cate, I lost cellular connection earlier this morning. It is spotty and hopefully I can read it some point tomorrow or the weekend.
@JannyMir Aqui se fue llegando a la 2am. Perdí luz, pero el generador entro, y llegando a la 7:30 la antenna de AT&T empezo a fallar. Aparte de los daños al garaje y laundry.
It really pick up. The wind was loud, still gusts scared me. The rain and wind damaged some parts of the house roof. The standby generator is running since 1:55am. Haven’t sleep and I want #Hurricane_Ian out of the state.
Go Away!!!
@DoloBoricua @tybritten @JStein_WaPo @sdague@cpgrabow DHS is involved on non-DOD request (what happen with the fuel tanker in Puerto Rico) but the MARAD Administrator is involved which needs to involve the DOT Secretary.
In a nutshell a few steps were added on both sides.
3/3
@DoloBoricua @tybritten @JStein_WaPo @sdague@cpgrabow When I was an AMP fellow in keeping the law in 2010, both the DOD and DHS could by a stroke of a pen basically waiver unilaterally by direction of POTUS.
Now it requires consultation on both sides (DOD and Non-DOD) as from the DOD was a reform from Hurricane Maria.
