This 👇🏻IMHO is one of the sharpest macro + tech posts of 2026. An absolute must read. The post is NOT about AI or technology, but about the very economic future of our country.
We *HAVE TO* treat AI inference like macroeconomic infrastructure & do so on war footing.
The AI bill is already arriving. Either we pay it in dollars forever, or we start printing our own ‘tokens’ in rupees & at scale.
IndiaAI Mission’s 38k GPUs are a start. But a GPU cloud without a sovereign inference layer may be useless in the long term. We will pay for the GPUs (in dollars) and pay again for inference (again in dollars).
The vicious loop that is just starting is brutal:
→ More AI adoption → bigger token bill
→ More dollar outflows → CAD pressure
→ Rupee weakens → tokens get even more expensive in INR
→ Margins compress → repeat.
Reducing oil consumption and not buying gold for a year is good. It is needed. However, India’s services surplus is the only thing actually keeping the rupee from cracking. $418B exports, $214B surplus offsets 64% of our merchandise deficit (oil, gold, chips etc). If we don’t act, that surplus is about to get eaten alive by token imports.
The new petrodollar is here. And it’s priced in USD.
Is there a solution? I think so. We just need to put out heads together and think long term. Happy to discuss the options for the way ahead…

We are excited to announce that @Space_Fields has signed an MoU with the @CmtiBengaluru CMTI - Central Manufacturing Technology Institute under @MHI_GoI. This partnership is a pivotal step in our mission to advance #sovereign aerospace & defense capabilities.
Receiving the Indian Navy crest from him was a great recognition and it reinforces our belief that patient, capability-driven deeptech work is finding resonance where it matters most.
It was a truly stimulating visit, as VCNS underscored the significance of what we are building & emphasized the importance of integration within Naval platforms. As a specialist in Gunnery and Missile Systems, his perspective carries both operational depth and strategic clarity.
Our team had the privilege to host VAdm Sanjay Vatsayan, PVSM, AVSM, NM (Vice Chief of Naval Staff) along with RAdm Prashant Handu, NM (ACNS, SR), Capt Pradeep Raja (NA to VCNS) and Cdr Sam Joseph (Cdr-TDAC).
Congratulations to all the winners of Dare to Dream 5.0!
Their innovative ideas continue to push the boundaries of technology and self-reliance.
The results are now declared and available on the DRDO & TDF website.

Greetings on the special occasion of Utkala Dibasa. Odisha is a state that stands tall as a timeless symbol of cultural as well as spiritual greatness. Odia music, art and literature have enriched India in countless ways. The people of Odisha, known for their determination, simplicity and warmth, have made remarkable contributions across fields. May Odisha keep scaling new heights of progress in the times to come.
It was great meeting Shri Sanjay Hazari, CMD Munitions India Limited. We had valuable and constructive discussions on advancing indigenous capabilities in rocket #propulsion and #armament systems, strengthening supply chain resilience, and
Odisha is no stranger to India’s tourism circuit.
From the timeless Konark & Jagannath Temples, to the sands of Puri Beach and the vastness of Chilika Lake.
But it seems that if you venture deeper into the state you discover landscapes that are every bit as spectacular.
Duduma Falls in Koraput district where the Machkund River plunges dramatically off a rocky cliff is one such marvel.
It’s a reminder that India’s beauty is inexhaustible. Just when you think you’ve seen it all… another wonder appears.
