love this @joboaler ...last year it was 120 girls! Thank you so much for your efforts in getting math education to be more fun and also paying tribute to Dr. Mirzakhani at the same time. https://t.co/Ww9F6fl0DW
Last week @youcubed and @PolyupInc invited 160 middle school girls to campus to honor Maryam Mirzakhani & engage in visual, creative maths. It was an amazing day & almost all said they changed their view of maths and themselves. Sharing brain science & creativity is so important!
This is so true. We put many barriers and levels in both pre-college and in college around higher level mathematics which discourages girls and minorities. Math is for everyone to learn and benefit from. https://t.co/Af6g18NxqL

Another reason that maths teachers need https://t.co/kruoydZ6HQ videos & other resources that boost students' attitudes!
Even while they are teaching, educators are learning too. The @UICnews received a grant to study exactly how #K12 teachers learn: https://t.co/UpIqtr7osI. #mathed
Useful (and very cool!) resource alert: the Awesome Math Girls website: https://t.co/Cb17PggvQV Their mission: "make mathematics and problem solving more appealing to girls at middle school and high school levels." @AMathGirls
