@thatsnotmine125@drruthannharpur I agree - it shouldnt be one or the other. It should be both. But, in my experience, maternity care is light on actual medical resource and expertise for the woman and heavy on advice about breathing and water injections for pain…! Just need to address the balance better
@hollymorgs This is frustrating to hear - feel really sorry for the trainee. This sort of behaviour needs to be dealt with robustly (very difficult to do in tje current culture climate). Im glad they have you to talk to at the very least

@ShazaFaisal@DrEmilyLouise Hmmmm… you missed the part that said she was the lead surgeon and assumed that role was one of the males… but sure, yeah, gender has nothing to do with this…
@davidnnaumann Slippery slope towards suggesting everything be admitted under medicine and patients just given to surgeons for the procedure. I feel it undervalues your skills.
@BSIR_News @StGeorgesTrust @StgRadiology@PPaauk@SCoRMembers@cirsesociety@SIRspecialists Very difficult to know how to respond to this. Happy for the indeviduals, but I feel desperately sad for the state of medicine in the UK, the safety of our patients and the many ‘junior’ doctors who have trained for years and would love to have this opportunity.
Male violence against women risen by almost 40% in 5 years. We don’t take it anywhere near seriously enough.
Violence against women a ‘national emergency’ in England and Wales, police say | Violence against women and girls | The Guardian https://t.co/Ksav1EssXp
@CMichaelGibson Its probably because no matter how good you are or how hard you work you will never be thought of as as good as the men who do it. Its unconscious bias and death to your morale by 1000 cuts. Constantly defending your position in the role is exhausting.
