Australia is a pluralist country, welcoming different races, religions and views.
What unites us is respect for each other and our right to live in peace.
There is no place here for antisemitism.
King Island is in the midst of its worst drought on record, after receiving just a fifth of its average rainfall during the period of August last year to April this year. It’s bad news for farmers who are struggling to find ways to feed stock this winter.

The Reserve Bank of Australia announced after yesterday’s meeting that interest rates would remain unchanged at 4.35 per cent.
RBA Governor Michele Bullock said “I hope we don’t have to raise interest rates again. Having said that, if we think we have to, we will.”
@RMITUJourno It’s bad news because annual inflation remains above the RBA’s target of 2-3 %, which means it is unlikely that borrowers will be granted any relief from higher interest rates while inflation remains outside this range.
The annual inflation rate is now 3.6 % after the Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) released data showing that prices increased by 1 % during the March quarter, 0.2 % higher than predicted.
This is bad news for borrowers hoping for rate cuts later in the year.
