We are deeply saddened to learn of Oliver Leavitt’s passing and express our condolences to his family and community.
Oliver worked tirelessly for his North Slope Iñupiat people and Alaska Native people everywhere, including advocating for crucial improvements to ANCSA.
Dr. Oliver Aveogan Leavitt inspired all of us on the North Slope. His devotion to our state and region was critical to the formation of ASRC and the North Slope Borough – and his contributions are immeasurable. We mourn his loss and honor his legacy.
