This lady reported about the King so accurately with so much respect far better than some Ugandan vloggers looking for clicks. Much respect and appreciation to her ๐
Before the country gets concerned, let's compare now and 10 years back.
IN 2016 ...
Uganda's national Caesarean section (C-section) rate was 6.0%; Maternal Mortality Ratio (MMR) was 336 maternal deaths per 100,000 live births; and Neonatal Mortality Rate (NMR) was 27 neonatal deaths per 1,000 live births.
IN 2026 ...
As per recent data from UDHS and @MinofHealthUG, the national C-section rate is 10.7% to 11.9% (nearly double); MMR is 188 maternal deaths per 100,000 live births (44% decline); and NMR is 22 newborn deaths per 1,000 live births (19% decline).
Regional and National Referral Hospitals average 20% to 35% C-section rates because of the high emergency referral burdens from the lower facilities.
Then we have to consider the following:
1. Increased access to elective and emergency C-section services in 2026 than before.
2. Uganda's population has grown, so has the population of women of reproductive age and deliveries.
3. Et Cetera.
It's an academic evening to our finalists and a good morning into the Physiotherapy profession. Come we celebrate our achievements and the love we share. #muapsug#physioDinner
@innocentmuhang6 @HKaweesi @WKyomya Am afraid you use Google, medicine is beyond that.
And caretakers who have medical knowledge oftenly what to show the doctor that they know.
@TumuhairweJohn7@MinofHealthUG All those people in hospitals are often seen by intern doctors who haven't been deployed . Now imagine what's taking place on those wards right now ๐ฅบ
@DrBale1@ekwaroobuku But we can't treat without a license it's unethical and punishable by the law,and who gives the license. It's them after internship. Choosing to sacrifice is something we do from third year of medical school
@ug_enigma@NalukwagoJudith@qwiktruth@DrOtileUg@SpireJim@ShamimNambassa From real experience, talk about how you have to work like for 2 full days with out rest from morning to night the night to morning. Remember these are the doctors btw that you will find on ward in an emergent situation not the qualified guys
@ug_enigma@NalukwagoJudith@qwiktruth@DrOtileUg@SpireJim@ShamimNambassa Medical students start the hustle in third year, that's sleepless nights on wards, ward rounds, talk about the mental trauma they go through. Those are 6 yearsof an exhausting life. Internship for other courses takes a few months
